Data Engineer at Milliman


JOB DUTIES: Work collaboratively in a Lean/Agile team with both development and other data engineering and DataOps team members. Design, create and maintain data pipelines. Drive automation through effective metadata management. Drive automation in data integration and management. Maintain infrastructure documentation. Contribute to new technology evaluation and continuous process improvement. Employee may telecommute from any location in the U.S. including a home office.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field. 8 years of experience in a data engineering, software engineering, or related role. 8 years of experience with DataOps. 4 years of experience with data warehousing. 4 years of experience with relational databases and analytic databases. 4 years of experience developing SQL scripts and stored procedures. 4 years of experience using software engineering skills in Python, T-SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Experience in each of these areas: (a) ETL processes, ELT processes, and data pipelines; (b) Query optimization skills for multiple data platforms such as SQL Server or Azure SQL Data Warehouse; (c) Cloud infrastructure; (d) Managed Services such as Microsoft Azure; (e) Supporting data governance and data quality initiatives through developing and implementing data standards, data policies, data practices, and data procedures.
All experience and skills may be gained concurrently.
